What makes Horsing Around International different?
Horsing Around International adventures are led by Wendy Murdoch—renowned equestrian educator, Feldenkrais Practitioner®, and creator of the SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program®. Her goal is to make travel worry-free by taking care of the little details so that you don't have to. Every journey blends exceptional horses, thoughtful instruction, and immersive destinations for truly transformational experiences.
What riding ability level are these adventures geared toward?
The riding level varies depending on the adventure you choose. While some of our trips are best suited for riders who are comfortable riding at the walk, trot, and canter in open spaces and varied terrain, we also offer trips for less experienced riders.
In order to ensure you'll have the best experience, Wendy personally reviews applications to ensure each rider is well-matched to the horses, setting, and pace of the adventure.
And horses are carefully selected for reliability, temperament, and suitability, and instruction is woven throughout the experience to support confidence, balance, and enjoyment.
Are non-riding partners welcome?
Yes—non-riding partners are warmly welcome on many Horsing Around International adventures. While riding is at the heart of what we do, our destinations are chosen for their rich culture, wildlife, natural beauty, and opportunities for relaxation and exploration.
Non-riders can enjoy guided excursions, wildlife viewing, local culture, photography, wellness activities, or simply time to unwind—often alongside riders outside of saddle time. Each destination offers a different mix of experiences, and we’re happy to help non-riders understand exactly what’s available before they travel.
How physically demanding on these trips?
The physical demands vary by destination and itinerary. Some adventures are relaxed and restorative, while others involve longer riding days, varied terrain, or time spent in the saddle at a steady pace.
Depending on the adventure, riders should be comfortable spending several hours a day riding, as well as walking, standing, and moving comfortably around barns, trails, or uneven ground. Strength is less important than balance, mobility, and body awareness—skills that Wendy actively supports through her teaching throughout the journey.
Before you commit, we clearly outline what each trip involves, and Wendy personally reviews applications to ensure the experience is well matched to your comfort, fitness, and goals.
Our priority is not pushing limits—it’s creating an experience where you feel capable, supported, and able to fully enjoy every moment.
How big are the groups?
Horsing Around International journeys are intentionally kept small. Group sizes typically range from 8 to 10 guests, depending on the destination and itinerary, allowing for personalized attention, thoughtful horse matching, and a calm, supportive atmosphere.
Smaller groups mean better riding experiences, more meaningful instruction from Wendy, and stronger connections—both within the group and with the horses. It also allows us to move at a comfortable pace, adapt to individual needs, and fully respect the places and people who host us.
This is not mass tourism. It’s curated, personal, and designed so every guest feels seen, supported, and included.
